SENIOR HURLING
Despite a fierce effort last Saturday we came up short against reiging county champions Thurles Sarsfields in the second round of the county championship group stage. A fine team performance saw us go into the break ahead with 8 different scorers from play. This was maintained into the second half and we held a 2 point lead at the three quarter mark. But sustained pressure from Thurles Sarsfields saw them charge through and record a comfortable victory. Drom’s victory in the other group game see’s us level with them on 2 pts. Sars have 4 and Swans are on 0. Our last game is against Carrick Swans on Sat 25th at 6:30pm in Cashel. A victory coupled with Sarsfields beating Drom would see us into the county knockout stages. A win for both us and Drom would require a 3 way playoff to determine who progresses.
SENIOR FOOTBALL
The county senior football championship re-commences this Sat Aug 18th at 6:30pm in Cashel with a tie against Moyle Rovers. After victory over Galtee Rovers in our first game we will be hoping to keep up that momentum. All support appreciated. The final group game has been fixed for Sat 8th Spetember at 6pm in Dundrum against Arravale Rovers.
MINOR B FOOTBALL
The mid final against Drom & Inch has been fixed for next Wednesday(22nd) at 7pm in Holycross. Best of luck to all involved.
PETER RYAN’S RACE AROUND IRELAND CHARITY FUNDRAISER
Upperchurch para-cyclist Peter Ryan is embarking on a mammoth 2,200km cycle round Ireland in late August and using the opportunity to raise funds for 2 local familes(the Doran’s and Gleesons). UPPERCHURCH DROMBANE CYCLE/WALK
Upperchurch Drombane Cycling Club in Association with Upperchurch Hill Walking are holding a fundraising challenge on Sunday 2nd September with proceeds going to the maintenance of Upperchurch Parish Hall. There will be 3 different cycle distances to choose from along with the option of doing the Eamonn An Chnoic loop walk. All events will start from Upperchurch Hall.
Events are:
110km cycle starting at 10am
50km cycle starting at 10:30am
25km cycle starting at 12pm
10km Eamonn an Chnoic Loop Walk starting at 12:30pm

CLUB MEMBERSHIP
Membership for the 2018 season is now due and remains unchanged from last years rates. €20 for all players between the ages of 16 to 18. €30 for all players between the ages of 18 to 21. €60 for all players over 21 years of age. €40 for all non playing members irrespective of age.
