WESTPORT UNITED ENJOY A GREAT NIGHT IN SLIGO

Westport United U.12's were guests of Sligo Rovers for their 80th Anniversary celebrations at the weekend. The boys played a match on the astroturf beside The Showgrounds and they all had a great time. This was followed by a tour of The Showgrounds and the lads got to meet the Sligo Rovers players, and their excitement was clear to see as they encountered their footballing heroes. Not only they got to see Sligo Rovers defeat Bray Wanderers 2-1 in their SSE Airtricity League encounter, they also got introduced to the crowd at half time. The kids also got very well looked after by Sligo Rovers and they also had refreshments. Westport United extends their gratitude to Sligo Rovers for affording their hospitality to all the children, the coaches and the parents and everyone came back to Westport tired and happy after a great day with the Bit O' Red.
